July is the month when primary school graduates get the results of their secondary school placement. The volunteer team of Tung Chung New Town Extension (East) the “Builder” collaborated with the social workers of the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Tung Chung Integrated Services (Ying Tung) to arrange mock interviews for primary six students from the Ying Tung Estate and the Tung Chung community.

Twenty students who participated in the mock interviews were assigned to one of the three interview rooms, where the "Builder" volunteers played the role of interviewers. In addition to allowing the students to experience the secondary school interview setting, the volunteers also provided feedback and suggestions to help improve the students' interview performance.

Through this event, the “Builder” volunteer team not only introduced the engineering projects in Tung Chung East, but also shared the information on the requirements to become an engineer. This aims to help the students to learn about the engineering industry and related careers so that they may consider choosing the necessary subjects in the future and join the construction industry.
