They are not scavengers, but recyclers. They should have more respect! The fun day with Tai Po’s street recyclers at ELCHK project.

May 1st is Labor Day also known as International Workers’ Day. It’s to celebrate the struggles and contributions workers have made. However, the elderly scavengers are the one to be ignored amongst the workers. Since 2021, ELCHK Social Service started Pickers’ Link Project (Community Recyclers Support Service), and its social workers have contacted more than 200 elderly community recyclers & also organized the FUN DAY with us. This is a kind of recognition of their community recycling works & also spreading the concerns of their working environment & health issues
