The Construction Industry Council (CIC) held the "Construction Industry 5-a-side Football Competition 2024" at Hong Kong Football Club on 4 Aug 2024 (Sun). Mr. Ricky LAU, Permanent Secretary for Development (Works), was invited as the Guest of Honour for the award presentation ceremony. Over 60 football teams from the construction industry took part and demonstrated outstanding performance at this annual competition. 

The "Construction Industry Caring Cup" remained a significant highlight of the 5-a-side football competition this year, with a team from the Development Bureau played against the “Construction Industry Team”. A total of HK$220,000 were raised and will be donated to the “Construction Charity & Caring Centre”, which provides support to the family members of workers affected by construction incidents.
